Job summary

North London Hospice is seeking a compassionate Registered Nurse to join the Inpatient Unit as a bank/casual worker. The role will operate from Finchley, with temporary bases at Jade Ward, Edgware during refurbishment for 10–16 months, returning to Finchley thereafter.

The post involves delivering high-quality, patient-centred palliative care within a multidisciplinary team, including supervising HCAs and students, and contributing to risk management and service improvements.

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse with palliative/end-of-life care interest and compassionate approach.
• Excellent communication and organisational skills.
• Ability to work within a multidisciplinary team and supervise support staff.

Responsibilities

• Assess, plan, implement and evaluate patient care.
• Administer medications safely and manage complex symptom and wound care.
• Maintain accurate patient records and provide emotional support to patients and families.
• Supervise Healthcare Assistants and students; contribute to staff development.
• Support risk management and continuous service improvement.
