Job summary

St George's University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust in London is seeking a Macmillan Clinical/Counselling Psychologist to join the Palliative Care service for a 12-month maternity cover. The role involves direct clinical work with patients who have life-limiting illnesses, multidisciplinary team liaison, supervision and teaching, and research support within a large teaching hospital.

Applicants should hold a doctoral level qualification in clinical/counselling psychology and HCPC registration;

Qualifications

• Doctoral level qualification in clinical/counselling psychology.
• Registration with the HCPC as a clinical or counselling psychologist.
• Experience with diverse client groups across life-course stages.
• Minimum 18 months post-qualification experience; 12 months in clinical health psychology.
• NHS experience and multi-disciplinary team collaboration.
• Desirable: supervision/training experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide specialist clinical/counselling psychology input for patients with life-limiting illnesses.
• Liaise with the palliative care MDT and other healthcare professionals.
• Direct clinical work with patients and relatives; supervise and teach others.
• Contribute to teaching, CPD, and research activities within the department.
