Job summary

South West London and St George's Mental Health NHS Trust is seeking a psychologist for a 12-month maternity cover in the CAMHS social care team. The role focuses on specialist assessments and interventions for looked-after children, plus cross‑agency consultation and group work.

Applicants should be a qualified clinical or counselling psychologist with HCPC registration, and experience with safeguarding, multi‑agency teams, and NHS settings is preferred. Right to work in the UK is required.

Qualifications

• Qualified clinical or counselling psychologist with HCPC registration.
• Final-stage trainees may receive a conditional offer subject to registration.

Responsibilities

• Provide specialist psychological assessments and interventions to children in care.
• Offer consultation and support to professionals and foster carers.
• Run groups and train social workers.
• Work with multi-agency partners, including Health and Education.
• Contribute to service evaluation, audits and development.
• Supervise trainees and other staff as appropriate.
