Job summary

Mitie is seeking an experienced Painter & Decorator to join our North East team. The role covers both internal and external painting across multiple projects with a 39-hour week and a permanent contract. You'll work Monday-Thursday 8:00–16:45 and Friday 8:00–15:45, earning £16.40 per hour and a target-based bonus.

We provide training, PPE, and equipment, with opportunities for career development. A driving licence is helpful but not essential, and you will use mobile tech to log work activities.

Qualifications

• Minimum 4 years verifiable painting and decorating experience.
• NVQ Level 2 or equivalent preferred; time-served or apprenticeship will be considered.
• Good communication and customer service; ability to work independently and meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Carry out all aspects of painting and decorating, including surface prep and repairs.
• Work on internal and external finishes using various materials.
• Safely erect and use access equipment with training provided.
• Install temporary screening to protect work areas and public where needed.
• Record work activity using mobile technology.
