Job summary

BELFOR UK Ltd is seeking a qualified Painter and Decorator to deliver works for residential and SME properties. You will prepare surfaces, mix paints, hang wallpaper, and ensure quality within timeframes set by the Contracts Manager across the UK.

You will travel nationwide, communicate with customers, and follow BELFOR's health and safety procedures while maintaining high workmanship standards.

Job Description

A qualified Painter and Decorator is responsible for delivering works and ensuring that these works are completed to a satisfactory quality in in line with timeframes set by the Contracts manager in line with BELFOR UK operational procedures and techniques for both Residential and SME properties

Requirements for Role

• Preparing painting surfaces by washing walls, repairing holes, or removing old paint.
• Mixing, matching, and applying paints and other finishes to various interior and exterior surfaces.
• Be able to hang wallpaper and pattern match to a high standard
• Taping a join filling
• Preparing the surrounding area by covering with cloth or plastic to prevent messes
• Moving furniture and equipment as necessary to reach the entire surface of the project
• Calculating the amount of materials and time required for said project
• Removing fixtures such as door knobs and light switch covers
• Taping off areas as needed
• Cleaning up supplies and replacing fixtures when project is complete
• Communicating with Customers to ensure they're getting the look they're hoping for
• Evidence projects with before and after photographs
• Review scopes and feedback to project manager of any changes
• Deliver works within the timeframe set by the Contracts manager.
• Liaise with the Service Centre and customer to ensure that they are regularly informed of the status of all live ongoing projects
• Ensure that Quality, Management, and Health & Safety procedures are both understood and fully implemented. Advising insured’s, where applicable, of the operation and safety of all plant and equipment including the provision of safety data sheets when necessary.
• Provide flexible resourcing to assist any other trade or restoration technician as and when required.
• Travel anywhere in the UK to deliver projects
• Attend tool box talks when requested.
• Attend training courses when provided by BELFOR UK or any other external provider.
• Understand and implement the use of new procedures and materials.
• Ensure responsibilities specific to your role as detailed within BKH L006 Health Safety and Environment Policy are complied with
