Closing date: 4th July 2025

Interviews: TBC

Do you have knowledge or experience of providing a quality painting and decorating service? Do you want to work for a business that cares about more than the bottom line? Then this is the opportunity you’ve been looking for!

At MSV Housing, we’re committed to ensuring our customers have good quality, safe homes. As a Painter and Decorator, you will provide a full range of painting and decorating services to our properties, preparing surfaces and applying suitable paints or finishes for internal and external works. You will work collaboratively with wider teams and deliver a quick and efficient service to our void properties to meet departmental targets. You will identify and rectify defects in paint works, plan and request materials, and ensure all preparation works are completed prior to site attendance.

This hands-on role is central to the service MSV delivers to our customers. Effective communication skills and empathy to understand the diverse needs of our customers are key. You’ll be based in the communities we serve, working under minimal supervision and as part of a team with a flexible approach.

A valid driving license is required as you will attend sites across the northwest.

MSV is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people, and vulnerable adults. As this role involves entering customers' homes, a basic criminal records check is required. A criminal conviction does not necessarily disqualify you; decisions are made on a case-by-case basis. Further details can be found in our Safeguarding policy attached with the candidate pack.

We offer a range of benefits including:

  • Company vehicle
  • Flexible work options with home working kit provided
  • 33 days holiday plus bank holidays, with a holiday buy scheme
  • Company pension scheme with up to 10% matched contributions
  • Health cash plan for treatments such as optical and dental care
  • Enhanced sick pay: up to 3 months full pay and 3 months half pay
  • Health and wellbeing support, including employee assistance, free counselling, and mental health initiatives
  • Life assurance (subject to pension scheme membership)
  • Learning and development opportunities
  • Commitment to Equality and Inclusion, with employee network groups

We encourage diverse applications and welcome candidates to submit an amended CV if possible. MSV supports work-life balance through flexible working options and wellbeing initiatives.

Interview dates will be confirmed; early applications are recommended. We are passionate about inclusion and welcome candidates from diverse backgrounds.

If unsure about meeting all requirements, apply anyway. We will assess your suitability.

The Company

MSV owns and manages nearly 9,000 homes across Greater Manchester, Lancashire, and West Yorkshire. We are dedicated to delivering social value, reducing homelessness, and supporting vulnerable populations. We offer competitive salaries, pensions, and extensive training, along with health and wellbeing support.
