Dovehaven is recruiting for a Painter & Decorator to work across eleven care homes in the Accrington, Leyland, Preston, Oldham, Wigan & Warrington areas. Working Monday-Friday, 8:30 am - 4:30 pm, 40-hour contract.

At Dovehaven, we are a family-run care group providing quality residential and nursing care for the elderly. We have been caring for residents for over 30 years and pride ourselves on a happy, welcoming atmosphere in all our homes. We offer a full range of care for residential and nursing needs, for both long-term and respite stays.

About The Role

Responsibilities include all aspects of painting/decorating and general handyman tasks. You will maintain the appearance and decoration of the homes. Owning your own vehicle is essential, as you will cover multiple locations. Mileage can be claimed back as expenses. The successful candidate will undergo an enhanced DBS check, paid for by Dovehaven.

About You

Our ideal Maintenance Person will have:

• Full clean driving license
• Experience in DIY and decorating
• Caring nature
• Strong communication skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Flexibility to adapt to residents' needs
• Health & Safety or Maintenance qualification (desirable)
• Experience in a care or nursing home setting (preferred)

You should be empathetic, able to respond quickly to requests, and knowledgeable about health and safety legislation. The role requires managing time effectively and understanding the group's ethos that residents come first.
