Job summary

Autoskills-Uk is seeking an experienced Paint Sprayer/Prepper for a contract role in Cirencester. The position offers Monday–Friday hours and an hourly rate of £23.00–£26.00, with the chance to work with a skilled repair team to deliver high-quality finishes.

You will prepare vehicles for paint, color-match and apply primers/basecoats/clearcoats, ensuring safety and quality standards are met.

Qualifications

• Experienced Paint Sprayer/Prepper with knowledge of modern paint systems.
• Understanding of water-based paints and refinishing techniques.
• Ability to achieve high-quality finishes on vehicles.

Responsibilities

• Preparing vehicles and panels for painting.
• Sanding, filling, masking and priming surfaces.
• Preparing damaged areas for a smooth finish.
• Mixing and colour-matching paints accurately.
• Applying primers, basecoats and clearcoats.
• Carrying out paint repairs and refinishing work.
• Inspecting finished work for quality.
• Identifying and correcting paint defects.

The Role

As a Paint Sprayer / Prepper, you'll be responsible for preparing vehicles for paint and completing high-quality refinishing work to the required standards.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Preparing vehicles and panels ready for painting
• Sanding, filling, masking and priming surfaces
• Preparing damaged areas to achieve a smooth, high-quality finish
• Mixing and colour-matching paint accurately
• Applying primers, basecoats and clearcoats
• Carrying out paint repairs and refinishing work
• Inspecting completed work to ensure a high-quality finish
• Identifying and correcting any paint defects
• Maintaining a clean, safe and organised working environment
• Following correct repair methods and health and safety procedures

About You

We're looking for an experienced Paint Sprayer / Prepper who can hit the ground running and deliver excellent workmanship.

You will ideally have:

• Previous experience as a Paint Sprayer, Vehicle Paint Sprayer, Paint Technician, Prepper or Vehicle Refinisher
• Experience preparing vehicles for paint from start to finish
• Strong knowledge of modern paint systems and refinishing techniques
• Experience with water-based paints
• Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to quality
• The ability to work independently and as part of a team
• A professional attitude and strong work ethic
• Relevant qualifications such as City & Guilds, NVQ, ATA or equivalent are desirable
