Job summary

CNC Recruitment is recruiting an experienced Skilled Paint Sprayer for a specialist metalwork and bespoke steel fabrication company in Taunton, Somerset. You will prepare surfaces and apply industrial coatings, delivering high-quality finishes within a busy workshop.

The role requires proven spray experience, attention to detail and the ability to work both independently and with the team on a range of metalwork projects. Excellent workshop conditions and clear career development are offered.

Job description

CNC Recruitment is currently recruiting for an experienced Skilled Paint Sprayer to join our client, a highly respected architectural metalwork and bespoke steel fabrication specialist based in Taunton, Somerset.

With over 30 years of experience, our client delivers high-quality projects across the South West, including feature stairs, balconies, balustrades, handrails, structural steelwork and bespoke architectural features.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Paint Sprayer to join a skilled production team within a modern, well-equipped workshop, working on a varied range of high-quality metalwork projects.

The Role

As a Skilled Paint Sprayer, you will be responsible for the preparation and finishing of a variety of metalwork components, ensuring all work is completed to a high-quality standard.

You will also support the wider production team with assembly and preparation of fabrications prior to dispatch.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare metal surfaces through cleaning, filling and sanding prior to painting.
• Apply industrial coatings and finishes to architectural metalwork.
• Operate airless, conventional and/or pressure pot spray systems.
• Achieve high-quality finishes on feature items and bespoke metalwork.
• Inspect finished work to ensure it meets the required quality standards.
• Assist colleagues with the build and assembly of fabricated products.
• Support loading and preparation of finished products for delivery.
• Maintain a clean, tidy and organised workshop.
• Follow all company health & safety procedures and use appropriate PPE.
• Work efficiently while maintaining excellent attention to detail.

What We're Looking For

The ideal candidate will have:

• Proven experience as an Industrial Paint Sprayer, ideally within metalwork, fabrication or a related industry such as coach building.
• Experience using airless, conventional or pressure pot spray systems.
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to achieve high-quality finishes.
• A good understanding of surface preparation and industrial coatings.
• A reliable, organised and professional approach to work.
• A strong work ethic and good timekeeping.
• The ability to work independently as well as part of a wider production team.
• Willingness to assist with assembly and other workshop duties when required.

Further training and support will be provided where required.

Pay & Benefits

Location: Taunton, Somerset

Position: Full-time, permanent

Salary: Competitive salary, discussed at interview and dependent on experience and qualifications

Hours: Minimum 39.5 hours per week
Monday Thursday: 8:00am 4:30pm
Friday: 8:00am 4:00pm

Overtime: Regular overtime available, up to approximately 10 hours per week
