Job summary

1st Choice Staff Recruitment Ltd in Biggleswade is seeking a Paint Shop Supervisor to lead the paint shop team. The role includes hands-on support for wet painting and powder coating and ensuring safe use of air-assisted respiratory gear.

Based at a modern facility, 58,000 sq ft, with on-site parking, the position is Monday–Thursday 08:00–16:30 and Friday 08:00–15:30. This is a temp-to-perm opportunity with opportunities for progression.

Qualifications

• Strong understanding of surface preparation and material properties.
• Ability to conduct routine inspections and maintain quality standards.
• High attention to detail and good communication skills.
• Proactive, reliable; able to work independently or in a team.
• Forklift licence advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Supervise day-to-day paint shop operations.
• Support wet painting and powder coating when required.
• Ensure adherence to health and safety procedures, including respiratory equipment use.
• Carry out routine inspections and quality checks; maintain surface finish.
• Support team coordination and workflow efficiency.
