Job summary

Lakeside Arts, the University of Nottingham’s public arts and heritage programme, invites applications for a Trainee Assistant Stage Manager as part of Stage Door 11. The role offers hands-on experience in backstage operations, prop management and cue preparation, with exposure to a Christmas family production and live performances.

Qualifications

• Experience in theatre, live events or backstage production through professional, educational or independent projects.
• Strong communication and collaborative skills.
• Enthusiastic, reliable and eager to learn.
• Based in the East Midlands and available for the full traineeship period, including some evenings and weekends.
• Interest in stage management, technical theatre, family theatre or inclusive arts.

Responsibilities

• Support backstage operations, props management, cue preparation and the smooth delivery of performances.
• Assist in audience experience, including accessible and inclusive performances, working with technical, production and Front of House teams.
• Contribute to rehearsals and performances across stages.
• Gain practical skills across rehearsals, performances, technical operations and audience engagement.
