Job summary

Mid and South Essex NHS Foundation Trust’s Basildon Paediatric Department is seeking Clinical Fellows (ST2) on a full-time fixed-term basis to cover a 12-month maternity leave. You will work with consultants and trainees to gain broad exposure to acute and general paediatrics, under supervision, with a focus on teaching and professional development.

Qualifications

• Registration and ongoing management of paediatric patients under supervision of Consultants.
• Participation in neonatal care including Level 2 NICU.
• Support to undertake MRCPCH examinations and related learning.
• Active involvement in teaching and supervision of junior staff and medical students.
• Engage in safeguarding and multidisciplinary team work.

Responsibilities

• Assess and manage children and young people across the Children's Ward, Paediatric Assessment Unit and Paediatric Emergency Department under supervision.
• Deliver care in the Neonatal Unit including stabilization of premature or unwell neonates.
• Participate in outpatient paediatric clinics and ward rounds.
• Contribute to department teaching, mentoring and quality improvement activities.
