Job description

We have been assigned by one of the UK's more prestigious NHS Trusts to help them recruit a Clinical Fellow in Paediatrics on either a Substantive or an NHS Fixed Term basis for 12 months to join their successful Paediatrics department.

The appointee will join a Children's Assessment Unit (CAU) that includes:

  • 8 cubicles
  • Ambulatory care with patient transfers to UHCW
  • Special Care Baby Unit (SCBU) - 8 cots, Level 1
  • Drayton Postnatal Ward - 2000+ deliveries per year, with weekday baby checks
  • Children's Outpatient Clinic including specialist clinics and day-case treatments

The successful candidate will be expected to:

  • Assess and treat acutely unwell children in CAU
  • Assist in resuscitation and stabilization of critically ill children
  • Diagnose, treat, and provide ongoing care for newborns in SCBU and Postnatal Ward
  • Undertake outpatient clinics and act at middle grade level
  • Perform treatments and procedures for infants and children attending for day cases
  • Participate in undergraduate child health teaching and assessments
  • Assist with quality assurance, audits, and resource management as needed
