Job summary

Mid Cheshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust in Crewe is seeking a Paediatric Therapy Associate Practitioner to support assessments and care plan implementation for children and young people aged 0–19. You will work alongside qualified therapists and the wider MDT in a busy, supportive environment.

You will gain hands-on experience with paediatric equipment and hydrotherapy, with opportunities to develop communication and data-entry skills using EMIS Web.

Qualifications

• Experience assisting paediatric therapy assessments and care plan implementation.
• Familiarity with hydrotherapy and paediatric equipment is advantageous.
• Good communication and team-working skills.

Responsibilities

• Work with Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists and other therapy staff to complete assessments and interventions for children.
• Assist in the completion of care plans for children under clinician direction.
• Liaise with MDT members to coordinate care and services.
• Manage stock and liaise on order routes.
• Use paediatric equipment such as standing frames and orthotics.
• Carry out hydrotherapy sessions as directed.
• Input clinical data and records into EMIS Web.
• Answer and direct calls within the department.

As part of the role, you would be working directly alongside qualified therapists and other therapy assistants to help with assessments, and implement care plans for children and young people aged 0-19. The role is extremely varied, and you will be working alongside some inspirational children and young people. The role will involve some independent working, but also close team working with members of our therapy team, and the wider MDT.

You will gain valuable experience and skills in working directly with the children and young people, including the use of children's therapy equipment, communication skills and hydrotherapy.
