Job summary

Mersey and West Lancashire Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust is recruiting a Staff Nurse - Paediatrics for a 12-month fixed-term contract. The post is based in Ward 3F, with access to a dedicated HDU and CHOBS, supporting around 6,000 paediatric cases annually.

Applicants must be a 1st Level Registered Nurse with current NMC registration and ongoing professional development, with UK experience and ability to start promptly. Enhanced DBS checks are required.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Formulate and implement individual patient care plans with the team leader.
• Act as named nurse or associate for a group of patients from admission to discharge.
• Participate in research or projects as directed by ward manager.
• Contribute to setting, maintaining and monitoring standards of care.
• Ensure equipment is maintained in safe working order with the equipment controller.
• Rotate onto night duty and twilight shifts as required.
• Promote effective communication with ward staff and other departments.
• Safeguard vulnerable patients in line with policy.
