Job summary

The Royal Free London NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a dedicated paediatric COPD nurse to work across Chase Farm and Edgware Hospitals. You will assess care needs, plan and evaluate care, and provide supervision to students within the COPD Nursing Team.

Working with minimal supervision, you will contribute to a seamless paediatric service, collaborate with other agencies, and support the COPD team and band 6 colleagues to optimise patient outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Assess care needs for all patients and ensure appropriately planned care is implemented and evaluated.
• Work with minimal supervision as part of the nursing team at Chase Farm and Edgware Hospitals.
• Provide care at COPD to prevent admission or reduce hospitalisation.
• Act as a clinical supervisor for students within the COPD Nursing Team.
• Collaborate with the COPD Nursing Team and other agencies to ensure a seamless paediatric service.

Job description

The post holder will work under the direction of the COPD manager with

responsibility for the assessment of care needs for all patients, ensuring appropriately planned care is both implemented and evaluated.

He/ she is expected to work with minimal supervision and will be designated to work as part of the nursing team at Chase Farm and Edgware Hospitals.

The Paediatric nursing team forms part of the Integrated Children's services at Chase Farm and Edgware Hospitals and is part of the Royal Free Hampstead NHS Trust.

He/she will provide care at COPD without supervision to facilitate the

prevention of admission or reduction in hospitalisation.

He/ she will act as an effective clinical support for students.

The post holder will work as part of the COPD Nursing Team with support from the team leader and band 6's. To contribute to the assessment, planning, implementation of evidence-based care to children and their families and carers, and work in a collaborative manner with other agencies to ensure a seamless service for the children.

Circumstances may arise for the post holder to assist in providing clinical cover in all areas of the paediatric unit.
