Paediatric Sister/Charge Nurse

This role is offered on a part time basis of 25.5 hours per week, this means that candidates interested in working part time are encouraged to apply and will receive a salary on a pro rata basis.

We are looking for a dynamic, motivated, and dedicated Children's Sister who will be working with an amazing multidisciplinary team, including youth workers, mental health teams, safeguarding nurses and Paediatric Emergency physicians. You will be joining a friendly and supportive team assisting in providing high quality paediatric care and excellent patient experience.

The post holder will be responsible for providing safe and effective care to all children (aged 0 - 18) requiring admission on the Children's Unit/Paediatric Assessment Unit or Emergency Department with a variety of medical and surgical conditions.

You are also responsible for the assessment, planning, delivery and evaluation of evidence based individualised patient care within the boundaries of their role. The post holder will contribute to the continuing development of standards of care including developments of nursing standards and monitoring of outcomes, assessment and implementation of care.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will be responsible for providing safe and effective care to children and young people without direct supervision, ensuring the day-to-day management of the unit meets service needs. The post holder will ensure that all staff management will be completed in a timely way.

We will support you in developing your clinical skills and competencies with our experienced team of paediatric nurses and clinical practice facilitators, with a variety of inhouse courses such as plastering, cannulation and opportunity for EPALS. We believe in supporting our staff to grow and develop to fulfil their potential.
