Job summary

Frimley Health NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Play Support Worker – Paediatrics at Wexham Park Hospital. This Band 2 role is 22.5 hours per week and focuses on delivering high-quality therapeutic play to babies, children and young people receiving care in hospital.

You will work under Play Specialists to create a welcoming, child-friendly environment and help reduce anxiety while supporting emotional wellbeing.

Qualifications

• Good written English and verbal communication, essential for interacting with families and staff.
• Able to work both in a team and independently to support play services.
• Good administration and organisational skills to maintain play areas and records.
• Customer care experience is desirable for family interactions.

Responsibilities

• Assist with the daily running of the paediatric play service under supervision of play specialists.
• Contribute to a high-quality play service that is welcoming, inclusive, and age-appropriate.
• Organise and supervise individual and group play activities reflecting each child’s needs.
• Maintain safe, clean play spaces and equipment.
• Support health, safety and wellbeing of children in care.
• Liaise with children, families and multidisciplinary team to provide coordinated care.
