Bedfordshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is recruiting a Band 5 Paediatric Staff Nurse for the Outpatients Department in Bedford. The role involves two days per week, supporting a variety of paediatric clinics, phlebotomy, ambulatory services and pre-assessment activities.

You will work with paediatricians and other teams, providing clinical care, advocacy for children and safe, evidence-based nursing practice within infection-control and governance standards.

Qualifications

• Paediatric nursing qualification and registration with NMC.
• Experience in paediatric care or Outpatients is advantageous.
• Competence in phlebotomy and venipuncture.

Responsabilités

• Assessing and monitoring children’s physical, emotional and developmental needs.
• Supporting clinical procedures, investigations, treatments and medication administration.
• Providing reassurance and advocacy for children, young people and their carers.
• Safeguarding children and responding to welfare concerns.
• Coordinating care with paediatricians, specialists, community teams, schools and other professionals.
• Maintaining accurate records and following infection-control, confidentiality and clinical-governance standards.
• Assisting with phlebotomy.
• Lead the delivery of the pre assessment clinic.
