Job summary

Calderdale and Huddersfield NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Consultant Ophthalmologist with a special interest in paediatric ophthalmology and ocular motility to join the ophthalmology team at Huddersfield Royal Infirmary.

The role encompasses outpatient, diagnostic and surgical pathways for children and adults, leading paediatric and ocular motility services, teaching, and involvement in service development within a large, multidisciplinary department.

Qualifications

• MRCOphth or FRCOphth or equivalent.
• Registered with the General Medical Council and hold a Licence to Practise.
• Experience and achievements in Ophthalmology.
• Teaching/education training desirable.

Responsibilities

• Provide specialist clinical care for children and adults across outpatient, diagnostic and surgical pathways.
• Lead paediatric and ocular motility services and contribute to theatre activity.
• Teach and mentor junior doctors and other staff and contribute to service development.
