Job summary

HCRG Care Group in Essex is seeking a Band 5 Children's Occupational Therapist to join the Community Children's Therapy Team in West Essex, covering Uttlesford, Harlow and Epping Forest. Based from Treehouse Family Hub in Harlow, you will support children and young people aged 0-19 to achieve independence through evidence-based occupational therapy interventions.

Qualifications

• A Degree or Diploma in Occupational Therapy.
• Current HCPC registration.
• Knowledge of child development and conditions that can affect functional development, participation and independence.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with children, families, schools and professional partners.
• Strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritise effectively across a varied caseload.
• Experience of working as part of a multidisciplinary team and adapting interventions to meet individual needs.
• A commitment to continuous professional development and delivering high-quality, person-centred care.

Responsibilities

• Deliver occupational therapy assessments, treatment programmes and reviews for children and young people aged 0-19 years.
• Develop, implement and evaluate individualised treatment plans and SMART goals tailored to each child's needs.
• Support children, families and carers to maximise independence, participation and functional outcomes.
• Provide advice, training and education to parents, carers, school staff and other professionals.
• Assess for, recommend and facilitate the provision of specialist equipment and postural management solutions within home and educational settings.
• Deliver interventions across a variety of settings, including schools, family hubs, community clinics and children's homes.
• Work collaboratively within multidisciplinary and multi-agency teams to support holistic care planning and service delivery.
• Maintain accurate clinical records and contribute to service development initiatives, audits and quality improvement activities.
• Participate in clinics, workshops, group programmes and wider therapeutic interventions across the service.
