Job summary

Chelsea and Westminster Hospital NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Lead Nurse for Education for WLCH to provide strategic and operational leadership for nursing education across our Children’s services.

You will shape the Nursing Education Strategy and lead the Paediatric Clinical Education Team, working with Higher Education Institutions and education partners to develop the current and future nursing workforce.

Qualifications

Registered Nurse(Child) on NMC register.
Teaching qualification such as PGCERT in Practice Education or equivalent.
Master's degree or evidence of working towards.
Extensive experience in clinical practice and clinical education.
Experience in leading, managing and developing education teams.
Experience of working with Higher Education Institutions and external partners.
Understanding of current NHS nursing education, workforce and professional agendas.
Ability to develop and deliver strategic education plans across multiple sites and services.

Responsibilities

Lead the development, delivery and evaluation of the WLCH Nursing Education Strategy, aligned to workforce, service, quality and national priorities.
Provide leadership and line management to the Paediatric Clinical Education Team, ensuring inclusive education across WLCH.
Lead workforce development, including induction, preceptorship, CPD, career pathways and talent development.
Provide strategic oversight of pre and post-registration education, working with Higher Education Institutions to support high-quality placements.
Work with clinical leaders to identify education and practice-development needs and strengthen clinical competence.
Translate learning from incidents, complaints, audit and quality improvement into education and practice improvements.
Champion innovative education, including simulation, clinical skills, digital and workplace-based learning.
