Following significant investment in our paediatric nurse staffing we align to RCN staffing recommendations for CYP including a supernumerary nurse in charge.

Qualifications

• Evidence of continual development
• Able to demonstrate written and oral skills
• Registered children's Nurse (essential)
• Degree or working towards (desirable)
• Experience in a multi-disciplinary team (essential)
• Acute paediatric experience (desirable)
• Knowledge of the NHS Constitution & Understanding the New NHS (essential)
• Understand principles of confidentiality (essential)
• Understand principles of safeguarding children (essential)

Responsibilities

• To assess patient's needs, plan, implement and evaluate care in accordance with the Children's Charter.
• To maintain contemporaneous, accurate and precise documentation relating to patient care
• To work within national, regional and local guidelines relating to nursing practice
• To take every reasonable opportunity to maintain existing clinical expertise and develop new skills as appropriate
• To participate in a programme of formal clinical supervision
• In all these respects to perform as a role model for junior staff
