Job summary

Alder Hey Children’s NHS Foundation Trust in Liverpool is seeking a skilled Band 5 Biomedical Engineer to join the Medical Engineering department. You will maintain, repair and calibrate a wide range of medical equipment across hospital and clinical areas.

The role requires an HNC/D level or equivalent and several years’ experience with medical devices in healthcare. A on-site practical test at interview is required to be considered for the post.

Qualifications

• HNC/D level or equivalent required.
• Experience with medical devices and complex electronic equipment.
• Willingness to participate in on-site practical test at interview.

Responsibilities

• Commission, repair, maintain and calibrate a wide range of medical equipment.
• Work in areas including Intensive Care, HDU and theatres and across specialties.
• Liaise with healthcare professionals, patients and external organisations to deliver safe equipment management.
• Complete safety tests and documentation for equipment maintenance and servicing.
• Provide training and guidance to junior staff as required.
