Job summary

Birmingham Women’s and Children’s NHS Foundation Trust in Birmingham is seeking a Consultant Paediatric Interventional Cardiologist to join a leading paediatric cardiology service, delivering care across the full age range from neonates to adults. The post is designed to advance interventional capabilities and collaborate with an experienced team.

The successful candidate will participate in on-call duties, contribute to audits, and support the regional and international referral network.

Qualifications

• Applicants must be registered with GMC and eligible to practice in the UK.
• Higher Specialist Training in Paediatric Cardiology preferable; be eligible for Specialist Register or on-track to obtain CCT within 6 months.
• Experience in paediatric cardiology, including interventional aspects, is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Participate in the consultant on-call rota in the Paediatric Cardiology department.
• Manage patients with congenital heart disease from neonatal period to adulthood.
• Actively participate in departmental audit and provide cross-coverage for colleagues during leave or sickness.

MBBS or equivalent

MRCPCH(UK)

Full GMC Registration

GMC specialist registration in paediatric cardiology or within 6 months of obtaining CCT
