Job summary

Mid and South Essex NHS Foundation Trust is seeking an experienced paediatric nurse to join the Children’s Emergency Department & Paediatric Assessment Unit at Basildon Hospital.

You will work in a supportive team to deliver high quality care to acutely ill children, with development opportunities and a proactive learning environment.

Required qualifications include RSCN/RN (child) and APLS/EPLS; full-time, salary £31,049 per annum (pro rata for part-time); closing date 14 October 2026.

Qualifications

• RSCN / RN (child) required.
• APLS/EPLS or willingness to undertake.
• Nursing experience in acute paediatric care setting.
• Experience or awareness of child protection issues.
• Experience in emergency dept/PAU.

Responsibilities

• Provide paediatric care in the Emergency Department and PAU.
• Work as part of a team to deliver high quality patient care.
• Prioritise workload and manage emergencies.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary colleagues to ensure safe care.
