Job summary

Belfast Health and Social Care Trust is recruiting a Deputy Ward Manager/Charge Nurse for the Emergency Department, RBHSC. The role provides leadership to a paediatric ward, supports the Ward Sister/Charge Nurse and deputises as required.

You will drive professional development, ensure standards, and supervise nursing staff and students, with a focus on patient-centered care and evidence-based practice in a busy ED environment.

Qualifications

• Registered on the live NMC register (RN).
• 3 years’ post-registration experience in a Paediatric Emergency Department.
• Ability to manage change and lead multi-disciplinary teams.

Responsibilities

• Promote person-centered care within the department.
• Assist in development of nursing policies, guidelines and protocols.
• Mentor and supervise nursing staff and students.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary team to deliver high-quality patient care.
• Oversee education and development programs for nursing staff.
• Ensure new staff complete induction and preceptorship.
