Job description

Overview

A Vacancy at Wirral University Teaching Hospital NHS Foundation Trust.

Our friendly, dynamic and talented Children’s team requires registered Children’s nurses to join them in an exciting opportunity to become part of the Children and Young People Emergency Department. This role involves delivering safe, high-quality care to paediatric patients alongside emergency department colleagues, and working with the management team to ensure the highest level of patient experience in line with the Trust’s values.

This is a demanding role that requires dedicated Children’s nurses to deliver emergency care to children and their families in a diverse population of the Wirral. If you are looking to join a focused team to deliver high quality care, this role may be for you.

Responsibilities

• Deliver safe, high-quality paediatric care in the Emergency Department.
• Work alongside emergency department colleagues and the management team to enhance patient experience and uphold the Trust’s values.
• Be part of a supportive team, including dedicated practice development nurses, during a smooth transition into the role.

Qualifications and Requirements

• Registered Children’s nurse (Band 5).
• Demonstrate a kind, caring and compassionate attitude with a desire to provide effective and efficient emergency care.
• Willingness to participate in continuing professional development, including courses in Paediatric Immediate Life Support and Advanced Paediatric Life Support.
• Enhanced DBS is required; cost paid by the Trust and salary deduction over 3 months.
• As this vacancy is within the Women’s and Children’s division, there is a mandatory requirement to join the DBS update service (cost £13 per year, applicants cover this cost with no reimbursement).
