Job summary

East Cheshire NHS Trust in Macclesfield seeks a Band 6 Paediatric Nurse for the Emergency Department to deliver high-quality paediatric care. You will assess, triage and contribute to discharge planning, working with the MDT to ensure timely care and patient safety.

Required are current NMC registration (Adult/Child/MMH), significant paediatric ED experience and commitment to CPD. The post may require Enhanced DBS checks and overseas clearance where applicable.

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse with current NMC registration (Adult/Child/Mental Health).
• Evidence of continuous professional development and up-to-date portfolio.
• Teaching/mentorship qualification or willingness to work towards.
• Leadership/management qualification or willingness to obtain.
• Experience in paediatric emergency care and service improvement.

Responsibilities

• Assess and triage paediatric patients in ED.
• Lead with Senior Nursing team to develop paediatric education needs.
• Coordinate ED paediatric unit admissions, transfers and safe discharges.
• Deliver evidence-based care and accurate documentation.
• Develop skills of the ED team and liaise with multidisciplinary staff.
