We have an exciting opportunity to join our Paediatric Audiology team as a Paediatric Audiology Assistant.
This is a varied role combining hands‑on clinical support with the practical organisation that helps a busy audiology service run safely and effectively. You will work alongside experienced paediatric audiologists, supporting children, young people and their families through their audiology journey.
You do not need to be an audiologist. We are looking for someone who is caring, organised, practical and keen to learn. You will receive training and competency assessment to develop the skills required for the role, working under the direct or indirect supervision of Specialist Paediatric Audiologists.
If you enjoy working with children and families, have excellent attention to detail and would like a role that combines people, practical skills, technology and teamwork, we would love to hear from you.
As a Paediatric Audiology Assistant, you will work closely with our specialist team to support the delivery of safe, effective and high-quality audiology care for children and young people.
Your clinical work will include supporting audiologists in two‑tester clinics, assisting with agreed elements of hearing assessments and, following training and competency sign‑off, undertaking activities including hearing aid checks, maintenance and repairs and taking ear impressions. You will also help children, young people and their families with practical aspects of hearing aid care and use.
There is also an important operational side to the role. You will help ensure that our clinical rooms are prepared and properly stocked; undertake equipment checks; manage and replenish clinical stock; receive deliveries; support annual stocktakes; and coordinate the calibration, servicing and repair of audiology equipment. You will also maintain accurate electronic records using Auditbase and Smart4Hearing.
You will work within clear procedures and an agreed scope of practice, with support and supervision from experienced paediatric audiologists. Just as importantly, you will learn when to stop, seek advice and elevate concerns.
We are particularly interested in applicants who can combine a warm and child‑friendly approach with excellent organisation, accuracy and attention to detail.
