This is a fulltime, permanent post of 37 hours per week, with a shift pattern of Monday to Sunday.
A qualified Paediatric Audiologist is sought to join our dedicated Team. The successful candidate will be forward thinking and motivated to develop services. Compressed working hours are available.
At band 6, 2 years post qualification experience is highly desirable with a considerable amount of paediatric experience. Applications from Audiologist currently at recently qualified band 5 would be considered from those who have an interest in paediatrics and would like to develop further specialist skills in this area of Audiology. Previous experience of working in a multidisciplinary team would be advantageous.
A qualified & experienced Audiologist who has gained either a degree qualification (BSc) or equivalent with an interest in paediatric Audiology. RCCP/AHCS/HCPC Registration and evidence of CPD activities since qualification is highly desirable. The successful applicant will work in hospital, community and educational locations across the NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde area and be part of the wider multidisciplinary team that supports hearing impaired and deaf children. The Audiology Team supports an Audiological Physician, ENT and community paediatrics. Based in the Royal Hospital for Children, an acute tertiary paediatric centre of excellence; the department supports the wider specialist services such as Oncology, Cleft, and Cystic Fibrosis. The Audiologists offer specialist clinics in Auditory Processing Disorders, Sound Sensitivity, Paediatric Balance, BAHA/Implantable BC aids and support ENT in post grommet assessments. The department has a multidisciplinary approach and has good established links with paediatrics, education and S<. The post holder will be involved in detailed audiometric assessments for all ages of children, including those with additional needs. They will also be responsible for managing a caseload of hearing aid users and making independent decisions regarding their habilitation/rehabilitation with amplification. At band 6, the post holder will have a delegated departmental responsibility for a specific area of the service provision such as bone anchored hearing devices.
A car driver is desirable.
