Mid and South Essex NHS Foundation Trust is seeking an experienced Paediatric Nurse to join the Paediatric Assessment Unit at Southend on an 11-month fixed term contract to cover maternity leave as a Charge Nurse. The role requires leadership in a busy PAU and delivery of high-quality family-centred care.

The post involves shift work, including weekends, nights and bank holidays, with a pro rata salary of £39,959 per annum for part-time hours (30 per week).

Qualifications

• Current NMC registration - RSCN
• Evidence of recent Continuous Professional Development
• Paediatric assessment course or relevant experience in acute care
• Leadership course
• EPALS/PILS

Responsibilities

• Lead a shift on the Paediatric Assessment Unit to assess, plan and evaluate family-centred care for babies, children and teenagers.
• Collaborate with the multi-disciplinary team to ensure delivery of a high standard of holistic nursing care.
• Adhere to infection control policies and ensure hand hygiene at all times.
• Maintain an up-to-date portfolio of evidence and participate in governance processes.
• Be prepared to work shift patterns including weekends, nights and bank holidays.
