Job summary

Slazenger Padel Clubs are seeking a General Club Manager to oversee operations, commercial performance, and people leadership at their Exeter venue. You will drive membership growth, manage budgets, and ensure a safe, welcoming environment for players of all abilities.

Lead a motivated team, maintain high service standards, and deliver an exceptional member experience while achieving financial targets. This role requires flexibility to work evenings and weekends as needed.

Qualifications

• Experience managing a leisure, fitness, hospitality, sports, or membership-based business.
• Proven leadership and people management experience.
• Strong commercial awareness and financial understanding.
• Excellent communication and organisational skills.
• Experience delivering high levels of customer service.
• Ability to analyse performance data and implement improvement plans.
• Experience within racket sports, padel, tennis, fitness, or hospitality sectors.
• Health & Safety qualification.
• Safeguarding training.
• Experience using membership management systems and booking platforms.

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day operation of the club across all functions.
• Drive membership growth, retention, and ancillary revenue.
• Maintain health and safety standards and ensure compliance.
• Recruit, train, and develop high-performing team members.
• Analyse KPI performance and implement improvement plans.
• Plan and oversee events, coaching, and programming.
• Manage budgets, payroll, and controllable costs.
• Support marketing campaigns and local partnerships.
• Deliver outstanding member and guest experiences.
