Qualifikationen

• Must be a Registered Nurse or Operating Department Practitioner.
• Willing to develop a dual role in Recovery and Scrub or Anaesthetic practice.
• Commitment to safe, patient-centred care.

Aufgaben

• Deliver safe, evidence-based care to patients recovering from local, regional, and general anaesthesia.
• Receive and assess patients admitted to PACU following surgical and diagnostic procedures.
• Monitor and interpret physiological observations and respond to deterioration.
• Maintain airway patency and support ventilation and oxygenation as required.
• Administer medications, intravenous fluids, blood products, and oxygen therapy within policies.
• Assess and manage pain, nausea, vomiting, and other post-operative symptoms.
• Ensure discharge criteria are met prior to transfer to wards or home.
• Provide compassionate care and maintain patient dignity, privacy and comfort.
• Facilitate effective communication with patients and relatives during recovery.
• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized patient care within PACU.
• Receive patients safely using a structured handover process.
• Monitor and respond to deteriorating patients and escalate when needed.
