Job summary

Gap Personnel Limited is seeking a Packing Technician Operative in Chippenham, Wiltshire. The position is temporary with a 3-month probation and a 9:00 am–5:00 pm, Monday–Friday schedule.

The role pays £13.00 per hour and offers a foothold into a growing, sustainable technology company. Successful candidates will package finished boilers and batteries, prepare accessory boxes, print labels, and coordinate deliveries with manufacturing and logistics teams.

Qualifications

• Previous warehouse or manufacturing experience is beneficial but not required.
• Ability to follow detailed instructions and work orders.
• Good attention to labeling and dispatch documentation.
• Physically capable of manual handling and standing for long periods.
• Basic computer literacy for label printing and record-keeping.

Responsibilities

• Package finished boilers and batteries in line with procedures.
• Prepare accessory boxes with correct parts and docs.
• Print and apply product and shipping labels accurately.
• Prepare boilers for delivery and perform final checks.
• Coordinate packaging and delivery with manufacturing/logistics.
• Report defects or shortages promptly.
• Comply with health, safety and environmental regulations.
• Keep packaging area clean and organized.

gap personnel Gloucester are recruiting for 1 Packing Technician Operative for an exciting business based in Wiltshire, developing a pioneering new technology to support the worlds net zero future. The company is now heading towards production after the launch of their first product, and we are looking for enthusiastic individuals to join their team.

For those that are able to demonstrate a strong work ethic, and a commitment to the working hours, there might be permanent opportunities available, and you are welcome to apply after completing your 3 months' probation period.

Main Duties:

• Package finished boilers and batteries in line with company procedures.
• Prepare accessory boxes, ensuring correct parts and documentation are included.
• Print and apply product and shipping labels accurately.
• Prepare boilers and related items for delivery, including final checks before dispatch.
• Work closely with manufacturing and logistics/warehouse teams to coordinate packaging and delivery schedules.
• Report any defects, non-conformances, or shortages promptly.
• Adhere to all health, safety, and environmental regulations and company policies.
• Keep the packaging and dispatch area clean, organised, and free of hazards.

Skills and Experience

• Previous experience in a warehouse, packaging, or manufacturing environment is beneficial but not essential.
• Ability to follow instructions and work orders accurately.
• Good attention to detail, particularly when labelling and checking items for dispatch.
• Comfortable using basic packaging equipment and hand tools.
• Good teamwork, reliability, and communication skills.
• Physically capable of manual handling tasks and standing for extended periods.
• Basic computer literacy for label printing and record-keeping.
