Qualifications

Job description

Reporting to the Shift Manager, this role is responsible for packing processed (extruded) animal food, safely, to the required finished standard, as effectively as possible.

Key deliverables expected are:

  • You leave work in the same condition you arrive.
  • You pack and palletize safe product for our customers, right first time, in a clean and controlled environment.
  • You achieve the above, at the lowest possible cost by reducing waste, running the asset at the required speed, using your training and experience to resolve asset issues, and effectively escalating downtime for resolution by shift engineers.
  • You work well with your peers and under the direction of the Shift Manager and the Lead Operative Packing, to undertake the above, and any other duties commensurate with the role.

Main Duties:

  • Running a packing line incl. product feed, bagging, technical checks and recording palletization, and finished product transfer to warehouse via FLT.
  • Creating stock (finished product and WIP) on CEMEX (stock system).
  • Capture, segregation, and transfer of waste for rework.
  • Clean as you go, and wider site cleaning as and when required.

Requirements, Experience and Person Specification:

  • Manufacturing background. Preferably in food, pet food or FMCG.
  • Food Safety L2.
  • Awareness of BRC.
  • Some awareness of CI tools and techniques.
  • Honest and empathetic with a sense of perspective.
  • Team player. We win together and lose together.
