Job summary

ALPLA Group is seeking Packing Operatives at our Mansfield site to join the packing and distribution team. The role involves ensuring packaging quality, accurate labeling, and adhering to health and safety standards within a busy manufacturing environment.

Shifts include 6-2, 2-10, and 10-6 on three or four crew patterns, with full training provided and opportunities for overtime. The company offers benefits and a long-term career path in packaging for diverse blue-chip clients.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
• Experience in operating machinery and basic fault fixing would be advantageous.
• Awareness of health & safety requirements in a manufacturing setting.
• Excellent communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Ensure products packed meet the required specification and report defects.
• Ensure packaging quality and remove any unsuitable cartons or trays.
• Check that labels match the product and that date/packer number is clear.
• Ensure goods are properly wrapped and report faults to supervision.
• Maintain high housekeeping standards at all times.
• Perform duties in line with health and safety practices (H&S).
• Carry out other duties related to quality packaging as required by supervision.

What You Will Enjoy Doing

At our Mansfield site we currently have opportunities within our packing/distribution department for Packing Operatives to join us.

Responsibilities: Packing Operative

• To ensure the product being packed meets the required specification. To report any defects to Supervision.
• To ensure the packaging is of an acceptable standard, removing any cartons, trays, etc. which do not meet the required specification.
• To check that each label is the correct one for the product being packed. To ensure that the date and packer no. is clearly marked on each label.
• To ensure that goods are properly wrapped and to report any faults immediately to supervision.
• To ensure that housekeeping is of the highest standard at all times.
• To carry out all duties in accordance with health and safety practice.
• To perform any other duties in connection with the operation of providing good quality packaging, that may from time to time be reasonably required by supervision and are consistent with the "Main Purpose of the Job".
