Job summary

Pertemps Bond is recruiting for Food Production Operatives in Highbridge. This temporary role involves hands-on work across production areas with full training provided. Typical duties include loading, quality checks, weighing ingredients, packing, and maintaining hygiene in a warm manufacturing environment.

The position offers a Monday-Thursday pattern with a 7:30am-5:00pm shift, and weekly pay. Nut-free site policies apply and reliability is essential.

Responsibilities

• Load and inspect products on a production line.
• Handle raw materials and ingredients, including lifting up to 15kg.
• Check products for quality and remove any foreign materials.
• Weigh ingredients accurately in line with production requirements.
• Assist with preparation and cooking processes.
• Inspect labels and best-before dates.
• Pack finished products into trays and boxes.
• Operate or assist with packing/wrapping machinery.
• Build and stack pallets.
• Fold and assemble packaging.
• Apply labels and tamper-evident seals.
• Maintain a clean and tidy working environment.
• Follow strict food hygiene and health & safety procedures.

Location: Highbridge
Pay Rate: £12.71 per hour
Hours: Monday to Thursday, 7:30am - 5:00pm
Contract: Temporary, with the potential to continue
Pertemps are currently recruiting for Food Production Operatives to join a busy manufacturing environment in Highbridge. This is a hands‑on role working across different areas of the production process. Full training will be provided, making this an excellent opportunity for candidates who are reliable, hardworking and keen to learn. The role depending on the area you are working in, your duties may include:

• Loading and inspecting products on a production line
• Handling raw materials and ingredients, including lifting items up to 15kg
• Checking products for quality and removing any foreign materials
• Weighing ingredients accurately in line with production requirements
• Assisting with the preparation and cooking process
• Inspecting labels and best‑before dates
• Packing finished products into trays and boxes
• Operating or assisting with packing and wrapping machinery
• Building and stacking pallets
• Folding and assembling packaging
• Applying labels, stickers and tamper‑evident seals
• Hand‑tying tags and labels
• Maintaining a clean and tidy working environment
• Following strict food hygiene and health & safety procedures

Previous food manufacturing experience is advantageous but not essential, as full training will be provided. Important Information as this is a food production environment, high standards of personal hygiene and cleanliness are essential. Candidates must be prepared to follow strict site procedures relating to food safety and hygiene. Due to the nature of the environment, nuts and nut-based products are not permitted on site.
