Job summary

Omega Resource Group is seeking a Packing Operative for a permanent role in the Quedgeley area of Gloucester. The successful candidate will pack and inspect products to ensure customer quality and accuracy.

The role offers dayshift hours and a stable, long-term career within an engineering-focused warehouse environment. You will operate manual and automated packing equipment, manage packing materials, and log production events using on-site software.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in warehouse, ideally packing department or automated machine setting in manufacturing.
• Good attention to detail.
• Ability to inspect packed products.
• High degree of manual dexterity to manipulate small products.

Responsibilities

• Label and pack products manually and with automated equipment on site.
• Load, set, adjust, operate and manage end-to-end packing equipment keeping lines running to targets.
• Understand Packing Route Card and complete required details.
• Prepare and manage packing consumables and materials to ensure optimum operation and uptime.
• Use bar scanner and on-site software to record events as required.
• Participate in team improvement ideas and projects.
• Undertake other reasonable duties as needed.

An exciting opportunity has arisen with my client. They are a successful engineering company that are offering a stable career in their warehouse department. They require 3 Packing Operatives to join their business within their packing department on permanent basis. The appropriate Packing Operative would be responsible for packing and inspecting packed products to ensure the customer received

Responsibilities:

• Label and pack the products both manually and via using automated machines on site
• Load, set, adjust, operate and manage the end-to-end process of various automated and manual packing equipment and machines, ensuring they are kept running in line with production targets
• Understand the information contained on the Packing Route Card and be able to complete details as required
• Prepare and manage all consumables and jobs including packing Materials, Labels, Printer Consumables, Boxes etc to ensure optimum operation and output to minimise impact to productivity and uptime of all machines and equipment
• Use bar scanner and supporting software platforms available at appropriate times to record events as process requires.
• Participate in teams and raise ideas for improvement/development
• Undertake other reasonable duties or jobs within the capabilities of the individual as the needs of the business dictate.
