Job summary
Alexander Steele is seeking a Packing Engineer in Melton Mowbray to maintain and improve packing and packaging equipment on a highly automated site. You will perform proactive and reactive maintenance, participate in upgrades and capital projects, and work with production to maximise reliability while upholding health, food safety and quality standards.
The role requires apprentice-trained engineers with packaging experience, strong fault-finding skills, and a proactive mindset.
Qualifications
- Apprentice-trained multi-skilled engineer with manufacturing/packaging equipment experience.
- Strong fault-finding and problem-solving abilities.
- Experience with both planned preventative maintenance and breakdown maintenance.
- Good health & safety knowledge and documentation practices.
Responsibilities
- Carry out planned preventative maintenance and reactive maintenance on packing equipment.
- Diagnose and repair electrical and mechanical faults to minimise downtime.
- Support machinery installations, upgrades and commissioning projects.
- Identify and implement continuous improvement opportunities in the packing area.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records and CMMS entries.
- Collaborate with production to maximise equipment reliability and performance.
