Job summary

The Green House Ely is seeking a packhouse operative to manage daily workload on the production line. You will ensure correct packaging, maintain smooth line flow, and uphold customer quality standards.

Responsibilities include monitoring product quality, reporting faults, maintaining clean work areas, and adhering to safety and waste segregation guidelines. Forklift license is required where applicable.

• Ability to work on your own.
• Knowledge of manufacturing production and processes; ability to use, repair and maintain machines and tools.
• Ability to work well with others.
• Forklift license.

Responsibilities

• Complete daily workload allocated by the packhouse manager/team leader.
• Ensure product is packed into correct packaging and boxes on the line.
• Keep the lines flowing and avoid bottlenecks on the lines.
• Understand customer specifications and quality expected for the produce.
• Monitor quality of products on the production line.
• Report any machine faults to packhouse management team.
• Leave work areas clean and tidy at all times, including labels and packaging during changeovers and at end of shift.
• Clean after production runs have been completed.
• Know where to segregate waste material and packaging, recycling wherever possible.
• Report all incidents, near misses and accidents to the packhouse manager or team leader for investigation.
• Do not carry out any further work without reference to your manager or team leader if unsure.

Complete daily workload allocated by the packhouse manager/ packhouse team leader.

Ensure product is packed into correct packaging and boxes on the line.

Keep the lines flowing consistently and not causing bottle necks on the lines.

Understand customer specifications and quality expected for the produce.

Monitor quality of products on production line.

Report any machine faults to Packhouse management team.

Leave the work areas clean and tidy at all times- labels, redundant packaging etc while work is in process, product change over and at the end of the work period.

Cleaning after the production runs have been completed.

Knowledge on where to segregate waste material and packaging, recycling wherever possible.

Reporting all incidents, near misses and accidents to the packhouse manager or team leader as soon as possible for investigation.
