Job summary

Dechra is seeking a Packer for the early shift at our Skipton manufacturing site. The role runs Monday–Friday, 5:30am–2:00pm with every other Friday off, equating to a 36-hour week. The position pays £26,376.48 per year, or £14.09 per hour, and requires strict adherence to GMP and SOPs.

Applicants should have good health and safety knowledge, strong time management, and effective communication skills. Packing experience in a similar environment is preferred.

Qualifications

• Good knowledge of health and safety compliance.
• Ability to manage time and workload effectively.
• Ability to communicate with peers and other departments.
• Ideally experience of packing in a similar manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

• Pack products to the highest quality standard in line with GMP and packing documents.
• Follow SOPs and packing batch documents; maintain GMP compliance.
• Attend and complete in-house and on-the-job training as required.
• Operate machinery safely and efficiently; report issues to Line Lead/Shift Manager.
• Follow packing methods documented in procedures and escalate deviations.
• Keep equipment clean and maintained; report deficiencies proactively.
• Maintain high housekeeping, cleanliness and personal hygiene within the department.
• Escalate any serious GMP or safety failures to management promptly.
• Perform any other reasonable duties as assigned by senior staff.

Monday – Friday 5.30am – 2.00pm with every other Friday off (36 hour week) - £26,376.48 salary (£14.09 hourly equivalent), Yes, we work a 9 day fortnight!

The role

This role has a broad and varied remit and the successful candidate will have responsibility for duties including:

• Pack product to the highest quality standard, compliant to regulatory dossier and in accordance with the current GMP guidelines and procedures
• Ensure compliance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOP's) and Packing batch documents and comply with their individual responsibilities to GMP
• Attend and comply with any in house training or on the job training.
• To ensure the efficient and safe use of machinery and equipment
• To keep strictly to Packing methods as laid down in the documentation and raise any issues or errors to the Line Lead, Packing Specialist and/or the Shift Manager.
• To ensure all equipment is clean and maintained in good working order and where deficiencies are found informing the Line Lead, Packing Specialist and/or the Shift Manager.
• Achieve the highest standards of housekeeping, Cleanliness and Personal Hygiene within the department.
• To notify the Line Lead, Packing Specialist and/or the Shift Manager, as a matter of urgency, if there has been any serious failure of safety or GMP which could affect staff safety or product quality.
• Any other reasonable request made by a senior member of staff (providing they are suitably trained.
