Job summary

Ryder's Homemade Bakery is seeking a dedicated Packer based near Kenn, Exeter. The role involves packing and labeling products, maintaining cleanliness, and ensuring compliance with food safety standards.

You will support deliveries, stock rotation, and accurate record-keeping while working Monday to Friday 13:00–20:00 with occasional Sundays. Based in a family-run Devon bakery with over 50 years of tradition, you’ll join a team that values quality, community, and customer service.

Qualifications

• Driving is required; based in Kenn near Exeter.
• Computer and number literate.

Responsibilities

• Follow opening, closing and shift duties and checklists as directed
• Report shortages (or over production) as soon as possible
• Pack and label products in a timely and accurate manner at all times
• Make sure packing machinery and equipment is well maintained
• Report any quality issues immediately to your manager / manager on duty
• Report any maintenance issues to your manager / manager on duty
• Work collaboratively as part of team to complete orders and preparation lists
• Receive and store deliveries, rotate stock, checking invoices and packing notes
• Maintain cleanliness across all areas during set up, close down and during service
• Monitor freshness and ensure correct use and adherence to "use-by dates"
• Accurately record and dispose of wasted product at the end of each day
• Adhere to all food safety, health, licensing, and fire safety regulations.
• Stay informed on menu and marketing changes, supplies, and policy changes
