Job summary

Gap Personnel in Wiltshire is recruiting a Packing Operative Technician to join a growing, sustainability-focused company. Based in Chippenham, you will package boilers and batteries, prepare boxes, print labels, and coordinate with manufacturing and logistics to ensure on-time dispatch.

The role runs Monday to Friday, 9:00 am to 5:00 pm, with a 3-month probation and potential permanent opportunities for successful candidates. The position offers a competitive hourly rate of £13.00.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a warehouse, packaging, or manufacturing environment is beneficial but not essential.
• Ability to follow instructions and work orders accurately.
• Good attention to detail, particularly when labelling and checking items for dispatch.
• Comfortable using basic packaging equipment and hand tools.
• Good teamwork, reliability, and communication skills.
• Physically capable of manual handling tasks and standing for extended periods.
• Basic computer literacy for label printing and record-keeping.

Responsibilities

• Package finished boilers and batteries in line with company procedures.
• Prepare accessory boxes, ensuring correct parts and documentation are included.
• Print and apply product and shipping labels accurately.
• Prepare boilers and related items for delivery, including final checks before dispatch.
• Work closely with manufacturing and logistics/warehouse teams to coordinate packaging and delivery schedules.
• Report any defects, non-conformances, or shortages promptly.
• Adhere to all health, safety, and environmental regulations and company policies.
• Keep the packaging and dispatch area clean, organised, and free of hazards.
