Job summary

Caterpillar is seeking a skilled Packaging Technician at their Desford facility in Leicestershire. This role supports production continuity, manages packaging assets, and collaborates with Packaging Engineers. It is not simply a driving role but a backbone position for the Packaging Team.

Essential forklift license and 1+ year warehouse experience are required;Desford site operates 08:00–16:00, Mon–Fri, onsite, with a 12-month agency contract and PAYE pay.

Qualifications

• Essential: Active Counterbalance Forklift License/Certification and operating experience.
• Desirable: Fork spreader experience.
• Technical: Proficient with Microsoft Office for inventory tracking and supplier emails.
• Experience: 1+ year in a warehouse, logistics, material handling, or shipping environment.
• Mindset: Proactive, team-player attitude with strong communication, problem-solving, and continuous improvement skills.
• Mobility: Valid driver's license (occasional local visits to packaging/maintenance suppliers using a department vehicle).

Caterpillar is seeking a proactive Packaging Technician at their premier Desford facility. This is not simply a driving position-you will serve as the operational backbone of the Packaging Team, directly supporting production continuity, managing packaging assets, and collaborating with Packaging Engineers. Fun Fact: Former Packaging Technicians in this department have progressed into full Packaging Engineers!

REQUIREMENTS
