Job summary

The Sofidel Group in Leicester, UK, is seeking an experienced Machine Operator for its packaging lines. The role sits at the heart of the production process and offers a path toward a future Team Leader position.

The successful candidate will join a safety-conscious, quality-focused manufacturing environment with a strong emphasis on personal development. Work pattern is a 4 on 4 off roster with 2 days (0600-1800) and 2 nights (1800-0600) shifts to support work-life balance.

Qualifications

• Previous manufacturing experience running automated packaging lines; supervisory experience preferred.
• Ability to carry out machine set-ups, changeovers, and basic fault finding.
• Strong understanding of quality standards and in-process checks.
• Commitment to GMP and hygiene standards.
• Ability to follow SOPs and work instructions accurately.
• Proven ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume production environment.
• Excellent decision making abilities and willingness to take on responsibilities.
• Desire to progress within the role.

Responsibilities

• Maintain the continuous running of packaging machines.
• Facilitate product changeovers including loading polyethylene reels.
• Operate the log saw as required.
• Interact with machines to solve minor issues and improve productivity.
• Carry out quality checks and report faults.
• Perform small maintenance and adjustments.
• Support colleagues and oversee end-line processes when needed.
• Be accountable for housekeeping and safety in the shift.
• Identify defects or process deviations and escalate as needed.
