Job summary

Wallace Hind Selection is seeking a Mechanical Engineering Design Manager to lead the Drawing Office and a team of five Mechanical Design Engineers in the packaging machinery sector.

The role splits 50/50 between managing the team and hands-on design work, ensuring on-time delivery of new machines, upgrades, spares, and accurate drawings and BOMs, while coordinating with electrical, software, and manufacturing colleagues.

Qualifications

• Experience leading a mechanical design team in a packaging machinery environment.
• Proven ability to deliver drawings, BOMs and spares lists.
• Strong collaboration with electrical, software & controls and manufacturing teams.

Responsibilities

• Manage the Drawing Office and a team of five Mechanical Design Engineers.
• Spend 50% of time on people management and 50% on hands-on design work.
• Ensure delivery times and KPIs for new machines, upgrades and spare parts.
