Job summary

Anne Corder Recruitment Ltd is partnering with an established FMCG client in Cambridgeshire to recruit a Packaging Technologist. The role is hands-on, owning packaging projects from concept through to launch and coordinating with suppliers and internal teams to deliver robust, commercially viable solutions.

You will manage packaging development across multiple NPD initiatives, briefing suppliers, and guiding artwork, testing, and production trials toward a successful launch.

Qualifications

• Experience in packaging development, FMCG or manufacturing.
• Good knowledge of packaging components and production processes.
• Experience with materials such as plastic and glass.
• Confidence managing several projects simultaneously.
• Experience dealing directly with packaging suppliers.
• Strong attention to detail and an organized approach.
• Ability to work effectively across different departments.
• Proactive, solutions-focused mindset.

Responsibilities

• Managing packaging development across multiple NPD projects.
• Working closely with suppliers on component specifications, tooling, artwork and testing.
• Coordinating colour matching, cutter guides and specification approvals.
• Managing packaging documentation, specifications and pallet plans.
• Supporting packaging trials and first production runs.
• Identifying risks, resolving technical issues and keeping projects on track.
• Working cross-functionally with NPD, production and wider internal teams.
• Supporting continuous improvement across packaging processes.
