Job summary

Search is recruiting an Engineering Team Supervisor for our Packaging Manufacturing site in North Wales. You will lead a team of two engineers and recruit two more, ensuring safe operation of all plant and effective line setup at the start of every run.

You will drive maintenance planning, source engineering supplies at optimal prices, and develop training programmes to raise team capability while coordinating with Production to meet schedule requirements.

Qualifications

• Time served engineering apprenticeship (NVQ or above)
• C&G 18th Edition Electrical (preferred)
• COMPEX certified (preferred)
• C&G PAT testing certificate
• Computer Literate
• Knowledge of process/manufacture/packaging equipment for consumer goods

Responsibilities

• Ensure plant & equipment are safe for use.
• Ensure equipment is available & correctly set up at start of each run; quickly resolve machine issues.
• Maintain a planned maintenance programme for optimum performance.
• Keep accurate records of engineering activities for legal & customer requirements.
• Develop work aids, jigs and processes with Production to increase throughput.
• Procure engineering supplies at optimum prices.
• Clean and prepare equipment after work for next line set-up.
• Advise on sourcing and purchasing of new plant & equipment.
• Develop and implement training and monitoring for subordinates.
• Coordinate with management to ensure equipment availability for production schedules.
• Discuss engineering issues with customers during factory visits.
• Deliver machine operation training to staff in liaison with Production management.
