Job summary

Macfarlane Packaging is seeking a mid-weight Technical Designer to join our Milton Keynes Innovation Lab. You will design innovative corrugated carton solutions, drawing on our design capabilities to deliver cost-saving results for existing and prospective customers.

With a solid foundation in corrugated carton design, you will contribute to productivity improvements, learn and grow within a fast-paced environment, and have strong development opportunities within the packaging group.

Qualifications

Preferable CAD experience using Kasemake, Artios or Impact.
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
Customer facing experience and ability to work with internal/external partners.
Track record of cost-saving projects.
Good knowledge of Excel.

Responsibilities

Listen to customer needs and communicate professionally and clearly.
Create innovative, cost-saving design solutions using CAD tools.
Provide tailored solutions addressing branding, safety and cost implications for customers.
Access consumer tastes and market trends to conceptualise package designs.
Generate reports and log design activities to support proposals.
Demonstrate strong time-management and juggle multiple projects to meet deadlines.
Produce finished samples, 3D visuals, artwork proofs and presentations.
Collaborate with customers to meet goals and maintain quality.
